The players were required to hold the ball tightly by the fingers. The ball needed to bounce perfectly for the player to score. The goal of the game was to throw the balls into the opponents. The winner would be the one with the most points after a certain time period. The game could be played indoors or outdoors. Hiding Game

Children would hide behind the bushes and watch what the adults were doing. If a child saw someone about to step on a pile of something, he would yell out "Dah!" This was a warning to everyone. In addition, when someone was walking and stepped into the mud, he would have to walk with his backside in the air so as not to get dirty. Another game would be one in which you had to follow someone and try to guess who he was following.

In the above game, you would run and look around for signs that would point to who you were supposed to follow. This would allow you to follow that person without being seen. After this, you would try to catch up with him and ask him questions about what he was doing.

The same type of game that was played today would be the chase game. This would involve running after an object and trying to catch it.

Oudjedjom Game

This type of game that was played in Egypt was called 'Oudjedjom'. It had been played for hundreds of years, maybe even thousands. In Egypt, the Oudjedjom game was played only in Cairo. It was one of the oldest board games ever played. It was said to have started with a Persian King, Khosrau. He loved this game. Every year, he sent a large amount of money to a man called Thabit ibn Abd al-Karim. The purpose of this money was to make sure that Thabit had all the tools needed to build and play the Oudjedjom board game. The original wooden board was about 7.25 x 7.25 feet in size. On each side of this board there was a path for the king to travel. In the center, there was a central hole that was big enough for a horse to fit in. The game used pieces of wood called pegs.

Every player was given 10 of these pieces. When they were done playing, they would keep them and start again. There were two versions of this game, the first was played on a wood board. The other was played on a wooden board. The main difference between the two games was the central hole in the board.
